I was first exposed to Club Manager in Sydney Australia at the Balmain Little Athletics Centre, where I was the Club Secretary. Club Manager is a tried and tested software package, designed and managed by Michael (who has first hand experience of what athletics clubs need) to improve athletic club efficiencies and to build engagement with athletes and parents.

When I returned to New Zealand in 2019, and joined the Pakuranga Athletics Club, I was surprised to see that the club was heavily reliant on excel spreadsheets to rum the club. There was also no structured mechanism for athletes to see and track their club night results and PBs.

In my role as part of the Auckland Athletics Junior Track and Field Committee, I lead a trial in 2021 of Club Manager with the Takapuna and Pakuranga Athletics Clubs. Post the trial, both clubs have continued to use the software, and in 2022, additional Auckland clubs have signed up to use the Club Manager.

In implementing the trial and the onboarding of new clubs, Michael has been very supportive and responsive in the setting up and embedding of Club Manager. Michael has also been made enhancement to the software based on feedback to accommodate the needs of the New Zealand clubs.

Club Manager has made huge improvements in terms of efficiency for Pakuranga. This includes functionality such as the setting up the club night programmes for the season, printing event night recording sheets, inputting athletes’ results, running PB reports, selecting relay teams and running the reports for the end of year prize giving.

Club Manager has also been instrumental in improving athlete and parent engagement by enabling athletes to see their results from Club night on the Pakuranga website, track their performances over the season and see their personal best performances across all of their events.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Club Manager.
